Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself
My current read is Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself by Dr. Joe Dispenza. I’ve been on a bit of a spiritual journey for a year or so now. Last last year I discovered Neville Goddard and devoured his lectures on YouTube and eventually bought his books.
Dr. Dispenza is a student or one who has studied Neville’s teachings. While I wholly believe in Neville’s teachings and believe they work if you work them, I have always been my Mother’s WHY child. I not only wanted to know what, but I needed to know why.
In Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself, Dr. Dispenza presents Neville’s principles and merges it with the actual science of how our brains work. Thus explaining how we can access the subconscious where our lifelong programs and habits are and begin dismantling them and inserting new programs and habits that will improve your life and get you unstuck and out of the habit of being yourself.
Quick Thoughts
So far I am completely fascinated by my current read, Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself. Dr. Dispenza also dedicated a whole section of his book to explain a four-week meditation practice that will help you to break old habits and thought patterns and develop new ones promoting love, joy, etc. This section also contains short writing or journaling prompts to help you get to the heart of things. I personally love to journal every day. If you’d like some tips on how to start journaling then please check out my previous post here.
Once I am done reading the book, I plan on putting the meditation into practice and I will come back with a life update and a review later. Have you read anything interesting or helpful lately?
