The Bibliophile Chronicles: February 2020 Book Haul!
I’m sharing my February 2020 Book Haul with you all. I’m thanking the stars that I picked up the love of reading from my Mother at a very young age. There is always a book that I’m in the middle of reading. I don’t complete as many books as I’d like to in a month, but I am still constantly reading. Since my focus is shifting to other things like spiritual growth and my journaling YouTube channel, my reading time is limited. But I am still grabbing and buying books that are of interest to me, fiction and non-fiction. Below are the books I bought in February and the summary of them.
Quantum Physics in Minutes by Gemma Lavender
Quantum Physics is the most fundamental — but also the most baffling — branch of science. Allowing for dead-and-alive cats, teleportation, antimatter, and parallel universes, as well as underpinning all of our digital technology, it’s as important as it is mind-bending. This clear and compact book demystifies the strange and beautiful quantum world, and hence the nature of reality itself.Contents include Schrodinger’s cat, inside the atom, the particle zoo, the Higgs boson, Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle, God playing dice, relativity, the Big Bang, dark energy and matter, black holes, the fate of the Universe, the Theory of Everything, quantum gravity, string theory, the multiverse, instant communication, quantum computing and cryptography, superconductivity, quantum biology, quantum consciousness, and much more.
Written as a series of mini-essays with 200 simple diagrams to help to understand, there can be no easier guide to this notoriously confusing subject. At last, it’s possible for non-specialists to understand the quantum theory and its central role in the birth of the universe and the very existence of life.
The Chosen by J.R. Ward
In The Chosen, Xcor, leader of the Band of Bastards, is convicted of treason against the Blind King. He is facing a brutal interrogation and torturous death at the hands of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. Yet after a life marked by cruelty and evil deeds, he accepts his soldier’s fate. His sole regret the loss of a sacred female who was never his: the Chosen Layla.
Layla alone knows the truth that will save Xcor’s life. But revealing his sacrifice and his hidden heritage will expose them both and destroy everything Layla holds dear. Even her role of mother to her precious young. Torn between love and loyalty, she must summon the courage to stand up against the only family she has for the only man she will ever love. Yet even if Xcor is somehow granted a reprieve, he and Layla would have to confront a graver challenge. The bridging the chasm that divides their worlds without paving the way for a future of even greater war, desolation, and death.
As a dangerous old enemy returns to Caldwell, and the identity of a new deity is revealed, nothing is certain or safe in the world of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. Not even true love or destinies that have long seemed set in stone.

Her classic bestseller, Heal Thyself, forever changed the way African Americans practice holistic health. Now, with Sacred Woman, she takes us on a transforming journey of physical and ancestral healing. Written to restore the magnificence of our spirits through sacred initiation.
Queen Afua begins by helping us to discover our unique “womb-an-ness”–and to honor the womb as the center of our consciousness and creativity. Giving us a twenty-one-day program for womb purification and spirit rejuvenation we are summoned to enter the Nine Gateways of Initiation. She blesses us with the exact tools we need to bring our beings into true harmony with the earth and the cosmos. Through extraordinary meditations, affirmations, and rituals rooted in ancient Egyptian temple teachings we learn how to love and rejoice in our bodies. By spiritualizing the words we speak; the foods we eat; the spaces we live and work in; the beauty we create in our lives; the healing energy we transmit to self and others; the relationships we nurture; the service we offer; and the transcendent woman spirit we manifest.
